In Japanese Cherry Blossom Season is called Ohanami. "hana" means flower and "mi" means look. It's celebrated by having picnics under the trees consisting of BBQs and drinking.
Yoyogi Koen(park) is one of Tokyo's largest parks, it's heavily forested with decent sized ponds. Meiji Jinju(shrine) is a Shinto shrine inside Yoyogi Koen that is dedicated to the Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken. More than 3 million people visit the park during New Years celebrations.
